2017 Blank Canvas 'Element' Syrah tops the charts again

2017 Blank Canvas 'Element' Syrah tops the charts again

Following the course of its two predecessors, the 2014 and 2015 Blank Canvas Syrah, the 2017 Blank Canvas 'Element' Syrah has received the highest score of the vintage across all New Zealand Syrah wines on esteemed wine critic website JancisRobinson.com.

Richard Hemming MW, international Syrah specialist writing for JancisRobinson.com had the following to say on this current release:

"Strongly peppery on the nose – absolutely spot-on for the style. There's loads of fresh red fruit and a big smack of acidity too, keeping the palate sharp and refreshed. Lengthy and meaty, really wringing every ounce of typicality from the variety. So naturally generous! Silky smooth, and light in body too, but with no shortage of flavour. Finishes with a touch of herby stemmy flavour." 17.5 POINTS.

Having just put the 2019 to bottle last week, and tasting the 2020 from barrel this week, we are confident that the pedigree of this wine will continue with some very exciting wines to come.

A limited amount of this wine is still available online or at select retailers and restaurants throughout New Zealand. Get in touch with us or our domestic and global distribution partners for information on availability and stockists.

Vinously yours,

Matt & Sophie
